We for Düsseldorf supports youth and addiction prevention projects

This year, the “Wir für Düsseldorf” donation initiative, set up by company owner Josef Klüh, is supporting selected organisations and programmes in the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia which promote the well-being of young people from difficult circumstances and the prevention of addictive disorders. The total donation of € 25,000 gives them the means to pursue their social projects and help many young people.

Frank Theobald, CEO of the Klüh Group: “Domestic violence, neglect and emotional stress drive many young people into isolation and jeopardise their future. Without early help, they are at risk of becoming dependent on addictive substances – with consequences for themselves, their families and society. This makes preventive measures and reliable points of contact all the more important, offering them support and prospects for the future.” The “Wir für Düsseldorf” jury – consisting of Josef Klüh, Ahlem Sehili-Klüh and Wolfgang Rolshoven – therefore decided to support the following associations and initiatives this year:

Social commitment in the region and beyond

For Klüh, responsibility has always been among the company values. Responsibility towards the employees, the environment, the community and the market. These are also the four pillars on which Klüh’s corporate responsibility strategy is built. The donation initiative “Wir für Düsseldorf”, which supports non-profit associations and projects in Düsseldorf every year, has been part of Klüh’s corporate social responsibility programme for many years.

The social commitment also includes the “Klüh Foundation for the Promotion of Innovation in Science and Research”, established by Mr. Klüh in 1987 on the occasion of the company’s 75th anniversary. Since its establishment, the foundation has supported a wide range of medical research projects, providing funding in excess of € 850,000.

Another focus of Klüh’s corporate social responsibility activities is the support of children and young people so that they can develop their full potential. For example, Klüh regularly supports projects such as the “wishing tree” campaign of the St. Barbara children’s home in Duisburg, the Düsseldorf Reading Festival and the Pacemaker initiative, which promotes digitisation in schools and the transformation of the learning culture. Furthermore, Klüh is also known in Düsseldorf as a supporter of sport, art and culture.
