Once again, METRO banks on Klüh’s cleaning expertise

Düsseldorf, 11.08.2021 – When it comes to cleanliness and hygiene, the international wholesale specialist METRO has once again placed its trust in Klüh Cleaning GmbH. Starting immediately, Klüh is taking over the cleaning of the building complexes known as Bridge 1 and 2 at the company’s premises in Düsseldorf. The cleaning division of the multi-service provider was able to hold its own against the competitors in a nationwide tender.

Klüh Cleaning’s Managing Director Christian Wilms: “We are delighted that we have been able to convince METRO with our individual cleaning concept, an optimum price-performance ratio and, last but not least, the good cooperation in the contract for the Bridges 5-13 on the METRO premises, which has been in place since March 2020.”

Boris Eickerling, Department Manager Infrastructural FM at METRO Campus Services GmbH: “In Klüh, we have found a reliable partner that implements services perfectly according to our specifications.”

The new contract, which has been concluded for the next two years, covers the cleaning of offices, the company’s own staff restaurant and a public market hall with retail outlets on a total area of around 30,000 square metres. The cleaning services include maintenance cleaning, glass and facade cleaning, exterior cleaning as well as the sorting of recyclables and emptying of containers.

Alongside manual cleaning activities, special cleaning machines are also deployed. For example, the first commercially approved autonomous cleaning robot “Whiz” from the manufacturer Softbank Robotics has already been deployed for the existing cleaning contract for the Bridges 5-13. Thanks to its smart navigation software, the robotic vacuum cleaner moves around its surroundings completely independently and easily avoids obstacles. This makes it an ideal supplement to the manual work of the cleaners and allows them to use their working time for more complex tasks.
