Klüh receives sustainability certificate according to ZNU standard

The multi-service provider Klüh has been certified for its successful commitment to sustainability in accordance with the sustainable management standard of the Centre for Sustainable Corporate Management (ZNU) at Witten/Herdecke University. The ZNU standard certifies that the corporate group acts sustainably in the areas of corporate governance, the environment, social issues and the economy.

The certification is the result of an audit lasting several days by independent external auditors from TÜV Rheinland (Association for Technical Inspection). It reflects Klüh’s extensive ambitions with regard to ecological, social and corporate sustainability, which already put the company on track for structured sustainability years ago.

An interdisciplinary CSR team developed the topics relevant to the corporate group’s sustainability strategy by means of a stakeholder analysis, product screening and risk screening and compiled them in a materiality matrix. It also assigned targets to the relevant topics and defined measures for achieving the targets in each business area. The team is made up of representatives from all the departments and acts as an important multiplier within the company. When it comes to implementing the sustainability strategy, quality management plays an important role, as it is responsible for analysing all the necessary data such as electricity, energy, fuel and water consumption, chemical use and waste volumes. In this way, Klüh ensures that more sustainable practices can be seriously and continuously applied throughout the company.

“The certification according to the ZNU sustainable management standard is an important milestone for Klüh. It strengthens our position as one of the leading multi-service providers on the market and underlines our self-image as a future provider which actively pursues the key issues of sustainability and digital transformation”, says Thomas Keßeler, Head of Sustainability at Klüh.

The ZNU standard is the first comprehensive and externally certifiable standard for sustainable business practices. Alongside the three areas of environment, economy and social affairs, it also takes sustainable corporate governance into account. The standard demands and promotes the development of an integrated management system that contributes to more sustainable business practices.
